Interview with Yuri Kozyrev : “I live where things are happening.”

Story : Alla Chevelkina

For the past twenty years, he’s been fighting on all fronts. Russian photojournalist Yuri Kozyrev, 49, has his own idiosyncratic way of covering wars. In order to stay true to current events without being only in the moment, he moves to the country and blends in with daily life. The war in Iraq is his own story, he says. He spent 7 years there. In 2011, he covered five revolutions.
