The Colours of the Russian Empire

During the last years of the empire Sergueï Prokoudine-Gorsky travelled Russia for the sake of Tsar Nicholas II, himself very keen on photography, a Russia which thought of herself still as eternal, and which he immortalized in trichromy. Exiled, he pursued his adventure in France. His method was used until the end of the 40s. By Jan Krauze.
